Hallway to Heaven (continued)

after

First lesson learned: the “after” isn’t ever truly “after” — more accurate to say “in process”. Still, we’re happy with the first steps getting the hallway and office in the cottage more livable. Here are the after photos. (Click here, here, or here for a glimpse at “before”)

And reverse…the beautiful bookshelf was a gift from Amy & Josh. (Josh made it!). Opposite the bookshelf is another bookshelf and the lamp made by my friend Jeffery.

Here’s the hallway rug — a bit short, but, I couldn’t resist the contemporary, casual design. Added bonus: it happens to incorporate both shades of brown in the floor/hall railing. Found it at Target - who doesn’t appreciate Tar-jhay?

I heart Target

My grandmother Irma painted this in the 1950s. It hung over the bathroom tub. With a nod to that, the ducks will now be hung flying into our bathroom at the top of the stairs. Just as soon as we get the proper hooks…

With family visiting this 4th of July weekend we didn’t get many projects completed outside a few more plants planted (yay!).

Tomorrow Brian starts on the bedroom…
