One of the first chores when you move away from the city is to update your driver’s license.
We chose Staunton because we could take advantage of it’s walkable downtown. (In fact, walking to dinner is about the same walking distance as it was from our Manhattan apartment to restaurants on Broadway). Still, you need wheels to get anywhere else.
Luckily, we were able to buy Brian’s brother-in-law’s truck. So within a week Brian had grown a beard and bought a truck. Total transformation.
(I was just relieved that presenting an expired California license I didn’t have to take the driving test again!)
So we registered in both of our names. Curiously, the truck registration reads our names and then, “or Surv”. I’m guessing that means “survivor”.
Wouldn’t that be a great name for a dog? We’ve been talking about a dog. I think we’ll name him “Surv”. Then he can be registered to drive our truck, too.
